New Kanji
- 上 above, on, up, superior (KY) うえ (OY) じょう
- 下 under, down, inferior (KY) した (OY) げ/か
- 中 middle, inside (KY) なか (OY) ちゅう
- 大 big, large, great (KY) おお (OY) だい / たい
- 小 small, little (KY) ちさい (OY) しょう
- 本 book, origin, main (KY) もと (OY) ほん
- 半 half (KY) (OY) はん
- 分 cut, minute (KY) わ (OY) ぶん / ぷん / ふん
- 力 power, force, ability (KY) ちから (OY) りょく
- 何 what (KY) なに / なん
Kanji at the Station
- 入口 Entrance (いりぐち) made of two Kanji 入 (On) and 口 (mouth) which translates to ‘on mouth’ or enter.
- 出口 Exit (でぐち) made of two Kanji 出 (out) and 口 (mouth) which translates to ‘out mouth’ or Exit.
- 北口 North Gate (きたぐち)
- 南口 South Gate (みなみぐち)
- 東口 East Gate (ひがしぐち)
- 西口 West Gate (にしぐち)
- 電車 Electric Train (でんしや) made of two Kanji 電 (Electricity) and 車 (vehicle) which means ‘Electric vehicle’ or Electric train.
- 地下鉄 Subway (ちかてつ) is made of 3 Kanji characters 地 (ground) 下(under) 鉄 (iron) which translates to ‘iron under ground’ or subway.
